Defining Good
A Networking Event for Charity
Exploring the first steps to building a social enterprise, featuring speaker David Gaines.
Beside Bardenay, November 13
Calling all Boise visionaries:
We’re assembling the best of Boise at a game-changing networking event, and we want you there.
The question of the night is: how can we take the first steps to using our businesses as a force for good?
We’ve got guest speakers, free food, a full bar, networking opportunities, and a private online group to help you out.
Open to anyone, regardless of career position or age.
100% of profits go to local charity City of Good.
Read on to see what the plan is.
Making connections easier
Firstly, all members of the Bloc get access to an exclusive event website with a listing of all attendees.
One of the biggest problems with networking events is the simple fact that it’s hard to talk to someone new. That’s why static blocks of conversation happen.
Instead, you’ll be able to see a list of everyone who’s there, “star” them for later reference, see their jobs, hobbies, and judge their favorite Star Wars movie.
Keeping it rolling
Secondly, we’re not just setting up a room and letting people mill about.
Thought leaders will be holding court with full-length speeches, as well as “sidebars” – smaller side discussions with a concrete goal that anyone is welcome to host or join.
We’ll also be acting as “matchmakers” for the night – kind of like speed dating. If you want to be introduced to someone, come see us. We know everyone there and can get you an intro.
Making ideas happen
Thirdly, the work doesn’t stop when the doors close – that’s just the beginning.
We’re setting up “idea walls” at the event, where people can post their revolutionary concepts for how to improve business in Boise, and others can tack their name on if they’re interested.
After the event, we’ll be proactively making connections between people who can get it done.
This is an opportunity to be part of something incredible.
We’re improved, emboldened, and inspired by our competition. Let’s celebrate that spirit of competition through collaboration.
We have the ideas and the means to make good things happen. Whether that’s charity drives, environmental goals, local initiatives, ethical sourcing, or simply building a better business, we need to answer one question together:
How can we help each other make Boise a better place?
Who We Are
Hi, we’re David, Ashley, and Lugo. We run Pink Robot Studios, a local Boise digital marketing studio.
For years, we’ve donated 5% to charity and planted trees for every project, but we wanted to take it a step further.
When we met David Gaines a few months ago, it all fell into place. This event was born out of love for community and business.
Check out Pink Robot Studios here.
Here’s what we believe:
Networking can be more impactful
It’s 2024, and we’re still holding networking events the same way we did in the 80s.
How can we incorporate tech? Make it more personal? More engaging?
If it’s not what you know, but who you know, how can we help people meet the right people?
And most of all, how can we network with a purpose?
You define it
We’re reaching out to you because we believe you can help us define what it means to benefit the “common good.”
What does that mean to you? Your passions for the world around you inspire us and have the power to lead our group of visionaries to success.
You’re part of the “common” in “common good.” So how can we help you in return?
Bridging the gap
If we want to secure our future, we need to ensure that information and opportunity are passed down to the new generation.
We survive and thrive on ideas, and youthful energy and diversity bring those ideas to life.
If you’re an industry vet, young people are your succession plan and your key to securing your legacy. Meet your next CEO tonight.

He realized social impact was accessible to everyone and that well-functioning businesses could better the lives of not only their employees and customers, but also the people involved in its supply chains and even with its competitors.
